[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Woo-seok] President Yoon Suk-yeol's positive evaluation of his national administration has been recorded as a majority.

A public opinion polling agency, Jowon C&I, conducted a survey on the evaluation of President Yoon's national administration from the 21st to the 23rd of this month, targeting 1,000 men and women nationwide aged 18 and older, commissioned by Straight News. The results showed a positive evaluation of 52.7% and a negative evaluation of 42.8%.

In this survey, positive evaluations were dominant in all regions except the Honam region (20.1%).

Also, when asked about voting intentions in the upcoming June 1 local elections, 51.5% responded that "a People Power Party candidate should be elected for the stable administration of the Yoon government," again a majority. Opinions that "a Democratic Party candidate should be elected to check the government" were 41.5%.

In the Gyeonggi-Incheon region, classified as a closely contested area in this election, the theory of national stability (55.8%) was dominant, while in Seoul, the national stability theory was 45.7% and the government check theory was 45.5%, showing an extremely close race with a gap of only 0.2%.

Regarding party support, the People Power Party had 44.1% and the Democratic Party had 33.7%, with a gap of 10.4% between the two parties. The People Power Party led the Democratic Party in all regions and age groups except Honam and the 30s and 40s age groups, as well as among both men and women.

This survey was conducted via ARS public opinion polling (100% RDD method for mobile phones, proportionally allocated random sampling by gender, age group, and region), with a response rate of 4.4% and a sampling error of ±3.1% at a 95% confidence level.
