- Announced new company name and pledged a fresh leap at SIMTOS 2022 opening on the 23rd
- Will leverage name change to discover new growth engines and maintain status as a global TOP3 machine tool company
Doosan Machine Tools (CEO Kim Jae-seop) announced on the 25th that it participated in Korea's largest manufacturing technology exhibition, SIMTOS 2022, unveiling new models and announcing its new corporate name, DN Solutions.
DN Solutions exhibited a variety of products incorporating its latest technologies at SIMTOS 2022, held from the 23rd to the 27th at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and held a “Naming Ceremony” to announce the meaning and future vision of its new name, DN Solutions.
This name change was made with the purpose of moving forward together toward a new future after Doosan Machine Tools was acquired by DTR Automotive in January this year. DN Automotive, established in 1971, is a specialized manufacturer of automotive parts such as tires, batteries, and vibration isolation products (VMS). In particular, it holds a top 3 position in the global vibration isolation product market and trades with over 30 leading global automakers including GM, BMW, and Tesla.
The new corporate name “DN Solutions,” which will be used from June 2, signifies the combination with its parent company DN Automotive and a new beginning. The “D” in DN symbolizes the history of “D” accumulated over more than half a century, starting from “Dong-Ah,” continuing through DTR Automotive, and encompassing the 45-plus years of trusted history from “Daewoo” to “Doosan,” collectively referred to as the D story. The “N” represents “Now & New,” the will to pioneer new paths through continuous challenges based on a strong present. In other words, it expresses the intention to open a greater new era by leveraging the strong synergy of the two companies as one family.
At SIMTOS 2022, DN Solutions showcased new products including 5-axis, multi-tasking, and large machining equipment that embody its latest technologies, as well as various products and solutions leading the IT and semiconductor industries.
DN Solutions exhibited multi-tasking machines capable of complex part processing such as milling, turning, and gear machining, including the SMX 2100ST, SMX 3100ST, and 5-axis machining centers DVF 5000, DVF 6500T, and DVF 8000T-AML. Additionally, automation solutions (AWC, LPS, COBOT, etc.), which have gained increased interest and demand due to COVID-19, were unveiled alongside the equipment. Furthermore, DN Solutions implemented user-customized operation systems and smart technologies.
Meanwhile, at the “Naming Ceremony” held at its SIMTOS booth on the 23rd, DN Solutions announced the meaning of the changed name and its future vision. Taking this name change as an opportunity, DN Solutions plans to strengthen its differentiated competitive edge in current growth engines, secure proactive momentum in future growth sectors, make bold investments to expand manufacturing capabilities, and practice sustainable management fulfilling social responsibilities, thereby becoming a truly global manufacturing specialist company. In particular, it intends to actively cooperate with DN Automotive to discover new growth engines and maintain its status as a company providing solutions for global manufacturing.
From the 23rd to the 27th, DN Solutions will also hold a separate customer invitation event at its Changwon plant in Gyeongnam. The latest products not exhibited at SIMTOS 2022 will be displayed at the Namsan and Seongju plants, with production line tours and technical consultations planned.
Kim Jae-seop, CEO of DN Solutions, said, “This name change was made to maximize synergy through mutual cooperation between DN Solutions and DN Automotive, securing new growth engines and manufacturing capabilities to become a global manufacturing specialist company.” He added, “I hope visitors to SIMTOS 2022, where new products incorporating DN Solutions’ latest technologies and smart technologies were unveiled, can experience a new paradigm of manufacturing innovation.”
