National Museum of Korea to Host 'Deokbune Museum Concert' on the 28th

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The National Museum of Korea, together with the National Museum Cultural Foundation, will hold the National Museum of Korea Performing Arts Festival "2022 Museum Culture Festival" from May to October at the outdoor stage Open Plaza and the permanent exhibition hall Euddeum Hall.

"Museum Culture Festival" is a free performance held annually since 2014 by the National Museum of Korea and the National Museum Cultural Foundation. For the past two years, due to social distancing measures, it has been held online, but starting with this year's first performance on the 28th, "Thanks to Museum Concert - Green Promise," it will be held both online and offline simultaneously.

The performance on the 28th will feature the group "Pinocchio," who has been actively involved in protecting the global environment, and environmental magician Ham Hyunjin, presenting music and magic shows while introducing the "1.5℃ Reduction Campaign" to save the Earth from global warming and ways to practice carbon neutrality in daily life.

This year's "Museum Culture Festival" will include "National Prestige" performances linked with national cultural and artistic institutions for occasions and seasons such as the Month of Patriots and Veterans, summer, and autumn, bringing performances to the audience, as well as "Noon Concerts" to offer refreshment to audiences during the tiring midsummer daytime.

In particular, the "Thanks to Museum Concert," inviting medical staff, firefighters, police officers, and others who have worked hard during the infectious disease situation to express gratitude, will also be held.

According to the monthly detailed schedule, in June, a stage featuring the Ministry of National Defense Army Band will be set up at the outdoor stage Open Plaza to commemorate the Month of Patriots and Veterans. From July to August, five Saturday noon concerts featuring beautiful classical and jazz performances will be held on the stage of the permanent exhibition hall Euddeum Hall.

Additionally, a National Opera Company performance themed "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will visit audiences in August, and in September, the "Thanks to Museum Concert" featuring classical trios and fusion gugak (traditional Korean music) performances will be held. The final event of the year will be a National Creative Orchestra performance themed on the museum's autumn, prepared for October.

A representative of the National Museum of Korea said, "We hope this year's Museum Culture Festival will be an opportunity to convey comfort and gratitude to the people who have had a difficult time due to COVID-19," and added, "Now that social distancing has been eased, we hope you enjoy high-quality culture at the National Museum of Korea, where various exhibitions and performances come together."
