[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 25th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it expressed regret through diplomatic channels regarding the entry of Chinese and Russian military aircraft into the Korean Air Defense Identification Zone (KADIZ) the previous day.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "Regarding the entry of Chinese and Russian military aircraft into KADIZ, we expressed regret to the Chinese and Russian sides through diplomatic channels and urged them to prevent recurrence."

He also emphasized, "We are closely responding while sharing relevant information with the Ministry of National Defense regarding the entry of Chinese and Russian military aircraft into KADIZ."

According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, two Chinese military aircraft (H-6 bombers) entered KADIZ at around 7:56 a.m. the previous day, 126 km northwest of Ieodo, moved over the East Sea, and exited KADIZ to the north at around 9:33 a.m.

These two Chinese military aircraft then joined four Russian military aircraft (two TU-95 bombers and two fighters) in the northern East Sea region at around 9:58 a.m., before leaving KADIZ at around 10:15 a.m.

At around 3:40 p.m., six Chinese and Russian military aircraft (four Chinese, two Russian) were again detected near the outer edge of KADIZ.

There are speculations that the entry of Chinese and Russian military aircraft into KADIZ was an intentional show of force, as it coincided with the day U.S. President Joe Biden concluded his visits to South Korea and Japan.
