Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 25th that it will order construction projects worth a total of 830 billion KRW this year in the complex sector using the Construction Management (CM) method with construction responsibility. The targets for ordering include a total of 9 projects in civil engineering and landscaping, such as the 3rd section of the Namyangju Wangsuk development project in the 3rd New Town. This is an increase of 3 projects compared to 6 projects last year.
The CM method involves selecting a construction company during the design phase to incorporate construction expertise into the design, and through collaboration among the client, construction company, and design firm, it enhances the overall quality of the project. It also enables shortening the project duration, reducing construction costs, and securing quality in each field.
LH plans to order two projects in June: the 3rd section of the Namyangju Wangsuk development project (143 billion KRW) and the 1st section of the Namyangju Wangsuk2 development project (112.7 billion KRW). From July, it plans to order five civil engineering projects: the 1st section of the Goyang Changneung development project (126.5 billion KRW), the 1st section of the Bucheon Daejang development project (97.8 billion KRW), the Yongin Eonnam development project (60.8 billion KRW), the 1st section of the Ansan Jangsang development project (90.4 billion KRW), and the Ansan Singil2 development project (78.7 billion KRW), as well as two landscaping projects: the Hwaseong Dongtan2 Gyeongbu Straightening Upper Park (79.4 billion KRW) and Incheon Gyeyang (44.8 billion KRW).
With this, LH will carry out construction using the construction responsibility CM method for a total of 14 projects worth about 1.8 trillion KRW this year, including 5 housing projects (958.7 billion KRW) that were pre-announced on the 13th of last month. Shin Kyung-chul, Director of the LH Land and Urban Development Headquarters, said, "We plan to carry out high-quality construction through CM ordering for 5 sections of the 3rd New Town," and added, "We will adhere to the housing supply schedule for the 3rd New Town to ensure there are no delays in move-in."
