[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Mobile financial platform Toss is partnering with Korea University to train experts in personal information protection.
Toss operator Viva Republica announced on the 24th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea University Graduate School of Information Security to strengthen personal information protection capabilities and cultivate experts in personal information protection.
Accordingly, Korea University, which has experience in education related to personal information protection, and Toss, which has accumulated experience in operating and managing personal information protection infrastructure, will collaborate to promote the creation of a personal information protection environment and the training of experts. They will also support field training and internship programs for prospective personal information protection specialists.
Attending the signing ceremony were Lee Seung-geon, CEO of Viva Republica; Shin Yong-seok, Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) of Viva Republica; Lee Sang-jin, Dean of Korea University Graduate School of Information Security; Kwon Heon-young, Professor at Korea University Graduate School of Information Security; and Yoon Sang-pil, PhD at Korea University Graduate School of Information Security.
Shin Yong-seok, Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) of Toss, said, "Through this MOU, we expect to contribute to the development of personal information protection experts and to strengthening the personal information protection capabilities of the fintech industry."
