MC Dingdong Admits Charges in First Trial for Drunk Driving and Assaulting Police Officer

[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Broadcaster MC Dingdong (real name Heo Yong-woon), who was indicted for fleeing after being caught by the police for drunk driving, admitted to the charges at his first trial.

On the 24th, the 13th Criminal Division of the Seoul Northern District Court (Chief Judge Oh Kwon-cheol) held Heo's first trial at around 2:40 p.m. on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act, causing injury while obstructing a special official, and obstructing a special official.

Earlier, on February 17th, Heo was caught drunk driving near Hawolgok-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, but fled from the police. During this process, he is also accused of ramming a police car and injuring a police officer who attempted to conduct a breathalyzer test. The breathalyzer results showed Heo had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher, which is at the level of license cancellation.

Heo is a comedian from SBS's 9th public recruitment class and worked as a pre-recorded MC on programs such as "Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook."
