According to Chosun University on the 24th, the plogging (picking up trash + jogging) campaign held from the 19th to the 20th around Chosun University was organized as an eco-friendly campaign to protect the environment and promote health by picking up the trash generated during Rose Week, which attracts numerous local residents.
About 80 participants, including Chosun University students, President Min Young-don, university members, and volunteer employees from Innisfree Co., Ltd.'s Gwangju and Daejeon branches, took part in walking and trash picking activities around Chosun University.
Through this, Chosun University conducted social contribution activities with local companies to provide a pleasant space for citizens exhausted by COVID-19.
A student who participated in the event said, "I am glad that local events, which had been stagnant due to COVID-19, are gradually taking place, and I feel proud to serve the local community through the eco-friendly plogging campaign."
President Min Young-don said, "I am pleased that this plogging campaign helped restore the sense of community solidarity that had declined due to the spread of COVID-19," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our role as a regional university by establishing industrial networks for collaboration with local companies."
Meanwhile, Chosun University, Dong-gu, and Innisfree Co., Ltd. have been conducting the 'Small Actions for the Earth' campaign, receiving positive responses last year with the plogging campaign at the Chungjang Festival.
