Lotte Tour Development Resumes Charter Flights to Hokkaido... After 2 Years and 4 Months

"First in the Industry Since COVID-19... Scheduled for 4 Flights Starting Late July"

Lotte Tour Development Resumes Charter Flights to Hokkaido... After 2 Years and 4 Months Otaru Canal, Hokkaido, Japan.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Tour Development has become the first to resume exclusive charter flights to Hokkaido, Japan, since the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the 24th, Lotte Tour Development announced that it launched a 3-night, 4-day Hokkaido charter flight travel package from late July to early August in line with Japan's relaxed entry policies on the 16th. This marks the first time a domestic travel agency has resumed charter flights to Hokkaido, which had been suspended since March 2020 due to COVID-19.

Kwon Ki-kyung, Head of Travel Business Division at Lotte Tour Development, said, "Hokkaido was the first region where Lotte Tour Development started operating charter flights domestically in 2000," adding, "This time, based on over 20 years of accumulated experience, we plan to offer differentiated services including carefully selected tourist courses, local specialty meals, and accommodation at premium hotels throughout the itinerary."

In the reopening era, Lotte Tour Development has been receiving positive responses by introducing various overseas package products to Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia, and more. Last month, the 10-day Northern Europe package sold through home shopping recorded about 26 billion KRW in sales from 4,000 calls.

This package departs from Incheon to Hokkaido via Korean Air charter flights a total of four times (July 26, 29, August 1, and 4). As a special benefit from Lotte Tour Development, customers who complete early full payment by June 16 can receive up to a 200,000 KRW discount promotion. The package also includes accommodation at premium hotels such as 'Toya Manseikaku' and 'Noboribetsu Grand' throughout the itinerary, as well as a traditional Japanese kaiseki special meal.

One of the main tourist attractions in this package, the 'Otaru Canal,' retains the appearance of old Otaru, which prospered as a key trading port in Hokkaido. Nearby, there are glass art museums and antique shops created by remodeling warehouses. The hot spring village 'Noboribetsu' is home to nine types of hot spring waters, including the sulfur hot spring 'Hell Valley' that emits steam and the approximately 1 km circumference hot spring lake 'Oyunuma.' Additionally, 'Lake Toya,' formed by volcanic activity, is the ninth largest caldera lake in Japan and is ideal for sightseeing by cruise boat.
