Muan Democratic Party Candidate's Joint Pledge No. 1: "300,000 Won COVID-19 Support Fund"

Military Council Passes First Agenda Item for Immediate Payment... Policy Council Holds Implementation Pledge Ceremony

Muan Democratic Party Candidate's Joint Pledge No. 1: "300,000 Won COVID-19 Support Fund"

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Democratic Party candidates for the Muan County local elections have selected "providing 300,000 KRW in COVID-19 disaster relief funds to all county residents" as their first joint pledge for action.

In particular, immediately after the election, it was decided to hold prompt consultations between Muan County and the County Council and to approve it as the first agenda item of the 9th County Council, with immediate payment to the residents.

On the 23rd, the 11 candidates held a policy council and a joint pledge signing ceremony for the first pledge at the election office of Choi Ok-su, candidate for Muan County governor, and made this decision.

Through the policy council, they explained the background for selecting the first joint pledge, stating, "We share the pain of the residents who are suffering due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, including farmers, students, self-employed, and office workers, and as candidates of the ruling party in the National Assembly and Muan's number one party, we will fulfill our responsibilities."

They strongly criticized, "Some independent local election candidates are recklessly making populist pledges that ignore the authority and voting rights of the County Council."

After concluding the policy council, the Democratic Party local election candidates held a pledge ceremony and vowed, "We will approve the first joint pledge, providing 300,000 KRW in COVID-19 disaster relief funds to all county residents, as the first agenda item of the 9th County Council through immediate consultations between Muan County and the County Council right after the election."

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party local election candidates held a moment of silence to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the late former President Roh Moo-hyun before proceeding with the meeting.
