[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Domestic delivery app Wemakeprice O is entering the metaverse business. Wemakeprice O announced on the 24th that it has signed an 'MOU for joint promotion of metaverse business' with CJ OliveNetworks, Galaxia Metaverse, and Grid.


Through this agreement, a 'Food Metaverse' will be established, creating a virtual platform where food delivery and pickup orders are possible. In particular, the goal is to build a new form of metaverse with reward-based activities and events that users can directly participate in.


To this end, the four companies will promote mutual cooperation by utilizing the specialized technologies each company possesses. Wemakeprice O will be responsible for operating the food ordering service. CJ OliveNetworks will oversee overall project planning and system integration, Galaxia Metaverse will manage blockchain and NFT technology operations, and Grid will be in charge of developing the entire metaverse platform.


In particular, Wemakeprice O plans to actively utilize its platform solution operation capabilities in building this service. Based on this, it will be responsible for overall services such as store operation and order management to ensure smooth operation of food delivery and pickup order services within the Food Metaverse.


Ha Jae-wook, CEO of Wemakeprice O, said, "We are launching a service that connects consumers and store owners in a virtual space for the first time among delivery apps in Korea," adding, "Since specialized companies from various fields are participating, we expect to provide users with a differentiated platform experience through a new service called Food Metaverse."
