GS Retail Volunteers at National Cemetery... Over 70 Executives and Employees Participate GS Retail's Vice Chairman Hyunsoo Heo and more than 70 executives and employees are taking a commemorative photo after completing volunteer work at the National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Retail announced on the 24th that Vice Chairman Heo Yeon-su and over 70 executives and employees participated in volunteer activities at the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery.

The volunteer activities began with a moment of silence at the Memorial Tower to honor the patriotic spirits. GS Retail employees placed Taegeukgi flags and offered flowers at about 1,000 graves in Section 15, while also carrying out environmental maintenance such as weed removal and trash collection.

GS Retail has conducted environmental maintenance volunteer activities at the Memorial Cemetery every year for the past four years without fail. Since 2018, they have also carried out campaigns such as the lunchbox sticker campaign to promote independence activists, historical explorations of the Provisional Government with 100 customers, support for descendants of independence activists, the "122609 Taegeukgi Campaign" to be pursued to the end, and efforts to raise awareness of the Korean Volunteer Army in Japan.

A GS Retail official stated, “The environmental maintenance volunteer activities at the Memorial Cemetery aim to widely spread a culture of respect for those who willingly sacrificed for the nation and its people,” adding, “As this is the fourth time holding the event, we plan to continue it so that it can become a representative patriotism campaign of GS Retail.”
