[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will hold an annual 'Overseas Exchange Cities Online Photo Exhibition' on its homepage starting from the 25th of this month.
This measure aims to revitalize exchanges between sister and friendly cooperation cities, which have been scarce due to COVID-19, strengthen bonds, and increase citizens' interest and understanding of overseas exchange cities.
Seongnam City selected five cities from four countries as participants in the photo exhibition: Aurora City in the United States, Shenyang City and Huizhou City in China, Thanh Hoa Province in Vietnam, and Gaziantep City in Turkey.
Visitors can enjoy photos of natural environments, cultural festivals, customs, and more by visiting the city’s homepage (Seongnam Introduction → Exchange Cities → Exchange Cities Photo Exhibition) and clicking on the respective country and region.
In particular, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Korea-China exchanges, 20 photos of Shenyang’s ancient palace Bonghwaro covered in snow and the Shenyang Tower night market scenery have been posted.
Shenyang City also independently launched a photo exhibition homepage introducing Seongnam City. On Shenyang’s homepage, a 3-minute 56-second introduction video of Seongnam City and 30 photos including the cherry blossoms of Tancheon Stream, Jeongja-dong cafe street, and Moran Traditional 5-day Market scenery are posted.
The city plans to continuously update new photos of sister and friendly cities to activate online exchanges.
Seongnam City is also considering posting photos related to Piracicaba City in Brazil, Yekaterinburg City in Russia, Changchun City in China, Namangan City in Uzbekistan, and Bologna in Italy.
