President Yoon: "In Korea, moving out means elders' blessings," Biden: "Same for us"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] It was later revealed that President Joe Biden, after visiting the presidential office in the Yongsan Presidential Office Building in Seoul on the 21st, responded with "It's unbelievable" when President Yoon Suk-yeol mentioned that it had been about ten days since he had taken office.

On the 23rd, Minister Park Jin introduced some of the conversations exchanged between the two leaders from the 20th to the 22nd during a briefing on the results of the Korea-US summit held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building, including visits to Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek semiconductor plant and the Yongsan presidential office.

President Yoon told President Biden, "In Korea, when you move into a new house, experienced elders come to offer words of wisdom and blessings," adding, "Today, as the first foreign leader to visit the Yongsan presidential office, you have congratulated us, so it seems the presidential office has properly settled in."

After President Yoon finished speaking, both leaders laughed heartily, and President Biden joked, "We have the same tradition in our Irish family. Do you happen to have any Irish elders among your family?"

Minister Park personally oversaw the schedule including the two leaders' inspection of Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek semiconductor plant, the small-scale summit meeting, the official dinner, as well as welcoming President Biden upon his arrival in Korea and seeing him off upon his departure to Japan.

He introduced the intimate conversations exchanged between President Yoon and President Biden over the three days and two nights, evaluating it as "the most profound summit meeting I have seen so far."
