[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The '2022 Seoul-style Traffic Safety Experience Education,' conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and sponsored by Coupang Eats Service, was held.
On the 23rd, Coupang Eats stated in a press release, "We supported the promotion of the education and provided beverages to ensure smooth on-site training," adding, "About 90% of the trainees participating in this education (approximately 210 people) were Coupang Eats delivery partners."
Coupang Eats provided trainees participating in the education with KC-certified helmets, summer arm sleeves, rider gloves, and beverages.
This safety education is the second session following the one held in November last year. Reflecting feedback that the practice area was small during the previous training, the education was conducted at an actual licensing test center, and the number of participants was doubled compared to last year.
The training took place from May 17 to 27, divided into morning and afternoon sessions, totaling 12 sessions at the Gangnam Driver’s License Test Center of the Korea Road Traffic Authority.
The safety education consisted of basic safe driving theory classes followed by practical driving on designated courses such as 'safe driving posture,' 'braking methods,' and 'basic driving,' allowing trainees to directly experience the theoretical content, which received positive responses from the participants.
A Coupang Eats representative stated, "We will continue to consider various support measures, including education for delivery partners, going forward."
