[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Taemin] In Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province, Samsung Taeyoung and Sinmyeong Dongbo Apartments have both passed the remodeling safety inspection. Following the Shinseong Sinan Ssangyong Jinhung Apartment, which was the first in the area to pass the safety inspection last month, the consecutive approvals of these complexes are giving momentum to the project promotion in the area.

According to the maintenance industry on the 23rd, the 'Sinnamusil 6 Complex Dongbo, Sinmyeong' apartments in Yeongtong-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province, received a B grade in the first remodeling safety inspection on the 18th. Unlike reconstruction, remodeling projects require a high grade in the safety inspection to proceed. If a C grade or higher is obtained, horizontal annex remodeling is possible, and for vertical extension, a B grade or higher is required.

Constructed in 1997, this apartment complex consists of 8 buildings with a maximum of 20 floors above ground and 836 households, composed of mid-rise buildings with small to medium-sized units of 84㎡ (exclusive area). It is a station-area complex located within 500 meters of Mangpo Station and Yeongtong Station on the Suin-Bundang subway line. Hyundai Construction was selected as the contractor, and through remodeling, it is expected to be reborn as a complex with 961 households.

On the 19th, the nearby 'Samsung Taeyoung' apartment accelerated its project by receiving a C grade in the first remodeling safety inspection. Built in 1997, this apartment complex consists of 12 buildings with a maximum of 18 floors above ground and 832 households, composed of small to medium-sized units of 84㎡ (exclusive area). POSCO Construction was selected as the contractor, and the number of households will increase from 832 to 956.

Among the remodeling projects in Yeongtong, the 'Shinseong Sinan Ssangyong Jinhung' apartment, which is progressing the fastest, was the first in the area to pass the safety inspection threshold on the 20th of last month. Since then, the number of complexes passing the safety inspection has increased to three within just one month.

Other complexes in the area are also accelerating their remodeling efforts. The largest complex in the area, 'Byeokjeokgol 8 Complex Doosan Woosung Hanshin (1,842 households),' received approval for the establishment of the remodeling association in December last year. The nearby 'Sinnamusil Jugong 5 Complex (1,504 households)' is also reported to have started the first remodeling safety inspection in January.
