'Baedal Teukgeup' Upgraded to Strengthen Delivery Platform Competitiveness
Promise to Introduce New 'Taxi Teukgeup' and Build One-Stop Mobility Platform 'Mobility Teukgeup'
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Kim Dong-yeon, the Democratic Party candidate for Gyeonggi Province governor, stated on the 23rd, "We will expand 'Baedal Teukgeup,' which has high satisfaction among residents, self-employed, and small business owners, to taxis and mobility services to open the era of 'K-Teukgeup.'"
On this day, through Facebook, candidate Kim said, "With 'K-Teukgeup,' which has strengthened public nature, we will check the monopoly of giant capital in the platform market and firmly establish a regional economic model where alleyway markets, workers, and consumers coexist."
Candidate Kim explained, "Giant platform companies monopolizing specific sectors distort a market that was competing healthily and hinder technological innovation. 'Baedal Teukgeup,' favored by Gyeonggi residents, is a public platform at the local government level designed to complement the harmful monopoly of such platform markets and strengthen distribution to alleyway markets."
He then proposed pledges such as strengthening 'Baedal Teukgeup,' newly introducing 'Taxi Teukgeup,' and building a one-stop transportation platform called 'Mobility Teukgeup.'
Candidate Kim said, "'Baedal Teukgeup' has recorded remarkable achievements with a cumulative transaction amount of 150 billion won and 750,000 members, significantly lowering brokerage fees and returning about 15 billion won in additional profits to small business owners compared to private companies, proving the necessity and success potential of public platforms. Now, we will upgrade to 'Baedal Teukgeup 2.0' and strengthen competitiveness as a delivery platform."
He also pointed out, "The taxi call sector urgently needs strengthened public nature," adding, "The newly introduced 'Taxi Teukgeup' in Gyeonggi Province will apply a fixed transfer discount system for public transportation. Taxis will be considered quasi-public transportation, and transfer discounts will be provided when used consecutively with buses, subways, and other public transportation."
Regarding 'Mobility Teukgeup,' he explained, "It is a one-stop transportation platform where all public transportation means such as buses, subways, taxis, shared cars, shared bicycles, and shared kickboards can be reserved and paid for at once using local currency," promising, "Starting with transfer discounts between existing public transportation and taxis, we will gradually reduce the transportation cost burden for Gyeonggi residents through an integrated fare system that expands transfer discounts to shared mobility."
Candidate Kim emphasized, "Lee Jae-myung sowed the seeds and sprouted the public platform, and Kim Dong-yeon will upgrade it to bloom fully," adding, "Expanding public platforms that check the monopoly of vested large corporations and find ways to coexist is also the path to creating 'a country of more opportunities.'"
