On the 23rd, Yongin City announced that it plans to inspect all sections of rivers totaling 468.55 km, including local and small rivers, by the 3rd of next month to prevent flooding and road washout damage caused by heavy summer rains.
To this end, the city has organized an inspection team of 26 members, including personnel from the city hall, three district offices, and river officials from towns and townships.
The inspection targets are ▲ Cheoin-gu (168 locations) 373.56 km ▲ Giheung-gu (21 locations) 50.96 km ▲ Suji-gu (13 locations) 42.03 km.
The city will also check for obstacles that could affect the flow of river water and determine whether dredging is necessary due to sediment accumulation. Additionally, any areas requiring urgent maintenance will be addressed immediately on-site, with plans to complete all work before the rainy season.
A city official stated, "We will conduct thorough inspections so that citizens can prepare for the rainy season with peace of mind."
