[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 21st, Kim Soo-young, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for Yangcheon District Mayor, and Park Ji-hyun, co-chair of the joint campaign committee, held a joint rally near Hyundai Department Store in Mok-dong, Yangcheon District.

Park, co-chair of the joint campaign committee, who stated, "I came to support Kim Soo-young, the leading female politician of the Democratic Party of Korea," appealed for support, saying, "Kim Soo-young, the problem solver who has addressed the pressing issues of Yangcheon District over the past eight years and created a Yangcheon where everyone wants to live, and the Democratic Party local government, please give us another chance to work."

Park also said, "We have heard many criticisms about the Democratic Party of Korea. We sincerely reflect on them and promise to definitely bring about change. We will become a policy party loved by the people."

Kim Soo-young, candidate for Yangcheon District Mayor, said, "Like Chairperson Park Ji-hyun, who is currently in her 20s, I devoted my youth to the democratization movement and labor rights movement with a determination to die. I and the Democratic Party candidates work with the same determination for the residents. If you entrust me with your vote based on my eight years of experience, I will immediately return and complete the development of Yangcheon."

Kim also said, "When I was first elected eight years ago, I was the only female district mayor in Seoul, and now I am aiming for a third term. I hope the residents of Yangcheon will make history by electing Seoul’s first female district mayor for three terms."
