Seoul City to Recruit 100 SMEs for 'Future Talent Onboarding Program' 2021 Welcome Kit Support

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Business Agency (SBA), a support organization for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), is assisting the early settlement of new employees at Seoul SMEs through the '2022 Future Talent Onboarding Program.'

According to a survey by the employment platform JobKorea on the 23rd, 64.9% of SMEs are experiencing early resignation issues among new employees. The top two reasons for early resignation are job and adaptation failure. In fact, an investigation into the rate of non-implementation of training for new employees at businesses with fewer than 300 employees revealed a rate of 96.2%. To support the early settlement of new employees at SMEs, SBA has prepared the '2022 Future Talent Onboarding Program.'

The '2022 Future Talent Onboarding Program' is a support project focused on simultaneously addressing the top reasons for new employee resignation?job and organizational adaptation issues?and the lack of onboarding programs within SMEs. New employees of participating companies receive ▲ online job lectures ▲ and welcome kits free of charge. This year’s onboarding program is open to Seoul-based SMEs with a history of hiring new employees, and up to 10 new employees per company can be supported.

Lee Kwang-yeol, Head of Education at the Seoul Business Agency, said, “We hope the 2022 Future Talent Onboarding Program will help new employees at SMEs settle early and establish onboarding programs within SMEs.” He added, “We plan to continue preparing various support measures to help solve the issue of mid-term resignation of new employees, which remains one of the major challenges for SMEs.”
