Ham Jeong-woo (28, Hana Financial Group) defeated Mika Loren Shin (USA) by 2 holes in the round of 32 on the second day of the KPGA Korean Tour Descente Korea Munsingwear Match Play (total prize money 800 million KRW) held on the 20th at De Beach Golf Course in Geoje-si, Gyeongnam (par 72, 7,216 yards), advancing to the round of 16 group league. He is a player who reached the '2-win milestone' at the SK Telecom Open in June 2019 and the Choi Kyung-ju Invitational last October. Group A includes Kim Young-soo (33), Park Sung-guk (34), and Kim Jae-ho (40).
This tournament uses an unconventional format where, immediately after the round of 32, the 16 players are divided into 4 groups to play 3 group league matches later. The first place in each group advances to the final and the 3rd-4th place match based on points. This is why players aim for a big victory by maximizing the hole difference. 'Woori Financial Champ' Jang Hee-min (20) lost by 3 holes to Jang Seung-bo (26). Other contenders include Moon Kyung-jun (40, NH Nonghyup Bank) in Group B, Kim Min-gyu (21) in Group C, and Jang Seung-bo in Group D.
