Kim Doyeon - Lee Gibyung Candidates "Please Choose Yoon Byungtae for Naju Mayor"

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 19th, the 8th local election of the civilian government officially began, and the candidates entered a fierce election battle.

On the morning of the 20th, Yoon Byung-tae, the Democratic Party candidate for Naju mayor, started with a greeting at Naju City Hall, followed by a visit to Jeongryeolsa Shrine at 9 a.m., a campaign for Naju mayor, and in the afternoon, held a large-scale campaign on Jungang-ro.

In particular, during this campaign, candidate Kim Do-yeon (Independent) and candidate Lee Ki-byeong, who participated in the policy alliance unification, gave speeches supporting candidate Yoon Byung-tae, receiving great response from voters.

Candidate Lee Ki-byeong said, “Let’s choose candidate Yoon Byung-tae to change the history of Naju,” and pointed out, “There is a mayoral candidate who left the Democratic Party and ran as an independent, using the local member of the National Assembly for the election.”

He continued, “Discord between local government heads and local members of the National Assembly is a major obstacle to development,” and “There are more than a few such local governments, which I introduced one by one.”

He then emphasized, “Candidate Kang In-gyu, an independent, claims that the Democratic Party held an unfair primary, but that is a blatant lie,” adding, “Among the 21 cities and counties in Jeonnam, the internal integrity evaluated by public officials themselves has been the lowest for four consecutive years, and since his son and close aides were arrested for violating election laws, it is only natural that he was eliminated in the Democratic Party’s detailed candidate screening.”

Candidate Kim Do-yeon said, “While working as a fire station chief in Naju and other cities and counties, I have always been heartbroken by Naju’s difficult situation and have long prepared to remodel Naju, but I have faced difficulties by choosing independent candidates so far.”

He added, “Even though I had to endure criticism as a ‘gray element’ during the unification process, I unified with the honest and capable candidate Yoon Byung-tae through a policy alliance to change the unfair and stagnant Naju of the past eight years for a warm and affectionate Naju.”

Finally, he appealed, “There were considerable disputes to reflect the policies carefully created during the policy alliance agreement process,” mentioning especially the cooperation to restore the past glory of the original downtown areas such as the establishment of a tertiary hospital and Yeongsanpo, and asked voters to choose candidate Yoon Byung-tae in the June 1 election.

About 300 merchants and citizens attending the campaign responded with applause and shouts of “Right!” to the two candidates’ support speeches, and candidate Yoon Byung-tae held hands with the two candidates and pledged victory.
