[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Emart24 and KB Kookmin Bank will open the first financial specialty convenience store combining a convenience store and a digital bank on the 23rd.
The first Emart24 financial specialty convenience store, opening in Bunpyeong-dong, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, is a hybrid store connecting a convenience store of about 20 pyeong and a KB Digital Bank of about 10 pyeong, allowing customers to complete banking tasks while purchasing products at the convenience store.
Emart24 and KB Kookmin Bank expect that this will not only provide convenient financial services to customers but also help increase sales.
At the KB Digital Bank Bunpyeong Branch, customers can issue bankbooks, deposit and withdraw cash and checks, and receive check cards and security media through the Smart Teller Machine (STM). The STM operates from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (6 p.m. on holidays and weekends), allowing use even on holidays, thus alleviating the inconvenience for customers who find it difficult to visit the bank on weekdays.
Additionally, the KB Video Consultation Dedicated Counter provides face-to-face level services such as opening deposit and withdrawal accounts, new savings and deposits, new and cancellation of internet banking, and credit loans. The video consultation counter operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and can be used even after the branch closing time of 4 p.m.
Emart24 and KB Kookmin Bank plan to continuously expand the financial specialty convenience stores after opening the first store by monitoring customer responses.
