Jung In-hwa, Gwangyang Mayor Candidate, Holds Kickoff Rally at Okgok 5-Day Market to Appeal for Support

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeong In-hwa, independent candidate for mayor of Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do, held his first campaign rally combined with a kickoff event at the Okgok 5-day Market in Gwangyang on the 19th, appealing for citizens' support.

At the event, candidate Jeong stated, "Compared to Suncheon and Yeosu, cities within the same Gwangyang Bay area, Gwangyang has not escaped stagnation. I will make Gwangyang the nation's top premium city." He emphasized, "Only Jeong In-hwa, with long administrative and national government experience, can achieve this."

Candidate Jeong also said, "Only a clean candidate with not a single criminal record is qualified to be mayor of Gwangyang," drawing applause from supporters as he targeted his opponent who has many criminal records.

At the kickoff event held amid citizens and supporters visiting the 5-day market that day, a B-boy performance was held to the logo song "Jeong In-hwa Saranghamnida" ("We Love Jeong In-hwa") sung by local singer Kim So-chan, attracting attention.

Candidate Jeong began his campaign at 6 a.m. that day by greeting citizens commuting at the Gwangyang Container Wharf intersection, and toured Gwangyeong-dong, Jungma-dong, Okgok-myeon, Bonggang-myeon, and Gwangyang-eup, campaigning until midnight.
