[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] On the 20th, the National Assembly postponed the plenary session time for the vote on the appointment consent bill of Prime Minister nominee Han Deok-su from 4 PM to 6 PM.

Oh Young-hwan, the Democratic Party floor spokesperson, met with reporters at the National Assembly Members' Office Building where the party meeting was held in the afternoon and stated, "Just now, the Democratic Party requested the Speaker of the National Assembly to delay the plenary session by two hours, and as the Speaker conveyed this proposal to the People Power Party side, we inform you that the plenary session has been postponed to 6 PM today."

Spokesperson Oh explained, "The Democratic Party is currently holding a party meeting with deeper and more serious discussions ongoing, so we requested a two-hour delay to allow more time until a conclusion is reached in the party meeting."

It is known that the Democratic Party is discussing whether to make the vote on nominee Han's appointment consent bill a party line vote or a free vote, as well as whether to proceed with the vote on nominee Han during today's party meeting.

Until the morning of the day, there was strong public opinion within the party that the appointment consent bill for nominee Han should be rejected, but some concerns were raised that it could be seen as 'foot-dragging' against the government and ruling party, leading to a heated debate over the party line decision.
