There have been many cases of casualties caused by delayed evacuation in major fire incidents.

In particular, the use of various building materials and dryvit construction methods during construction produces deadly toxic gases in the event of a fire. This causes rapid fire spread, shortening the available evacuation time, making swift evacuation more important than anything else.

A fire official stated, "During a fire, the pungent smell and smoke can block vision and cause panic, making quick evacuation difficult." He added, "We urge everyone to make it a habit to familiarize themselves with the locations of emergency exits and evacuation routes in advance to prevent the loss of precious lives."
