Pastor Choi Geun-sang of Seokbo Church in Yeongyang, Gyeongbuk, gave the donation to the Seokbo-myeon Community Security Council, saying, "Although it is a small sincerity from the church members, I hope it will help the marginalized residents who have become more difficult due to COVID-19."
Pastor Choi said, "We will continue to be a church that shares warmth and practices kindness to neighbors in need and children."
Seokbo Church, founded on May 19, 1922, in Seokbo-myeon, participated in this donation as part of its 100th anniversary celebration this year.
Kim Chohan, head of Seokbo-myeon, responded, "I deeply appreciate the warm gesture extended to the marginalized groups in the area who are going through difficult times in many ways."
The church will hold a 100th anniversary thanksgiving service and ceremonies to appoint senior and retired elders on the 22nd.
