Candidate Baeyongtae's 'Declaration of Support by 10,000 Yeongam Residents'

Public Sentiment Unites for Fair Elections Amid 'Double Voting Coercion' Controversy

Candidate Baeyongtae's 'Declaration of Support by 10,000 Yeongam Residents'

[Yeongam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] In Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, over 10,000 county residents declared their support for independent candidate Bae Yong-tae, number 5 on the ballot.

About 100 representatives of the support declaration visited candidate Bae Yong-tae's independent campaign office on the 18th and expressed their commitment to actively participate in election campaigns to ensure Bae's victory.

This support declaration appears to have consolidated public sentiment favoring a fair election around candidate Bae, following the controversy over candidate Woo Seung-hee's alleged 'double voting' directive during the Democratic Party's Yeongam County governor primary.

They stated, "On the 42nd anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Uprising, we remember and honor all those who sacrificed," adding, "It is especially meaningful as the day we declared support for candidate Bae, a May 18 merit recipient."

They continued, "Candidate Bae, born in Sijong-myeon, Yeongam County, passed the administrative examination and has held key positions in the administration, including Vice Governor of Jeollanam-do, making him the right person to revive our declining county."

Finally, they expressed gratitude for the candidate's warm consideration in pledging to donate his entire salary as county governor to scholarship programs for Yeongam students, emphasizing, "We will continue efforts to unite the hearts of 60,000 county residents for Bae's election," appealing for support.

Independent candidate Bae Yong-tae is running on key pledges including ▲providing basic income to all residents ▲promising 200 annual job placements in large corporations, fulfilling the hopes of Yeongam youth and their parents ▲constructing a second government office in Samho-eup to alleviate inconveniences for residents in the western region ▲revitalizing the tourism industry and attracting businesses, aiming to transform Yeongam into Korea's premier luxury region.
