[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The No. 1 spot on Yes24's comprehensive bestseller list for the third week of May is held by '5 Years Later, Q&A a Day (2022 Marigold Edition)'. This diary book steady seller, which records precious changes and growth in life by answering one wise question each day, recently made a comeback after appearing on a variety show. It is a diary that can be started on any day of the year and has received positive responses every year since its publication in 2015.

Kim Young-ha’s novel 'Farewell' returned with deeper reflections, ranking 2nd, up two places from last week, while 'The Uncomfortable Convenience Store', a warm story of an ordinary neighborhood comforting tired days, rose to 3rd place, also up two spots. 'My Hero Academia 33 Standard Edition' entered at 4th place immediately after pre-orders opened, much to the anticipation of fans, and 'I Could Be Wrong', the last life lesson left by the forest sage Bjorn Natiko Lindeblad, took 5th place.

New releases in the economic management and investment field also attracted attention this week. 'I Buy Small Apartments with Zero Won and No Loans', a practical real estate investment guide by 30-something asset owner 'Jack Pasi', who built 10 billion won in assets with 3 million won, ranked 10th this week. 'The Chance', an investment roadmap presented by macroeconomics expert Professor Kim Young-ik, came in at 15th. 'Surviving Inflation', which introduces investment methods responding to the first inflation in 40 years since COVID-19, ranked 18th.

The top two spots in the e-book category remained the same as last week. 'Used Bookstore Ghost Stories Collector', a collection of 29 touching and mysterious stories from used bookstore customers, held the No. 1 position for two consecutive weeks, while '3:33 AM, Magic Tool Shop Polaris', depicting incidents unfolding at the magic tool shop Polaris that opens at 3:33 AM, maintained its 2nd place ranking.

It was a week that reminded us of the steady popularity of novels, driven by steady sellers and pushed by new releases. According to Yes24’s tally, sales of books in the novel category increased by 14.8% compared to the previous week.

Notably, the new release 'One Day, You Entered My Death', which ranked 11th this week, showed a remarkable rise. It was published as a book following enthusiastic support from readers after winning the 8th Internet Novel Award, gaining word-of-mouth for its unique story structure that starts from 'death' and moves toward 'life', leaving a profound impression.
