Jeju Airport Anticipates Boost in Tourism with Resumption of International Flights in June


[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Chang-won] Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Regional Headquarters (Head Son Jong-ha) announced on the 20th that it held a joint TF meeting with Jeju Province, CIQ agencies, and airlines on the 19th to fully prepare for the resumption of international flights at Jeju Airport.


Jeju Airport had suspended international arrivals for over two years due to COVID-19, but with the resumption of flights to Singapore and Bangkok from June, it is accelerating preparations to reactivate all international facilities so that passengers can use the airport safely and conveniently.


At the meeting, each agency discussed their respective tasks focusing on passenger immigration processes and quarantine management measures.


The Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Regional Headquarters stated, "With the long-awaited resumption of international flights and the inaugural flight to the unprecedented Singapore route, we expect to further elevate the status of Jeju as a tourist city and contribute to revitalizing the local economy," adding, "We will continue to cooperate closely with various related organizations in the province to achieve this."
