This challenge was prepared to promote walking culture and raise awareness of the importance of continuous physical activity.
In particular, by operating the challenge from May 21 to June 6, during the World Rose Festival period, it was designed to encourage more people to take interest and participate.
Any resident of Gokseong-gun can participate in the challenge.
To participate, install the WalkOn app on your mobile phone, search for and join the ‘Gokseong-gun Health and Medical Center’ WalkOn community.
On the challenge screen, select ‘Participate’, achieve the target number of steps, and then proceed by selecting ‘Submit’.
The challenge goal is to walk 170,000 steps over 17 days, and among those who achieve the goal, 170 people will be randomly selected to receive mobile gift certificates.
In addition to this challenge, Gokseong-gun also runs an event every month where outstanding WalkOn participants are selected and awarded mobile gift certificates.
Among the subscribers of the ‘Gokseong-gun Good Morning Walking Program’, those who record a monthly cumulative step count of over 350,000 steps are classified as outstanding participants.
A Gokseong-gun official said, “We plan to operate various walking programs such as first-come-first-served walking in the future, so we hope many residents will enjoy walking using WalkOn.”
