Jang Seok-woong Proposes 'Three-Party Agreement for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Policy Election'

Jang Seok-woong Proposes 'Three-Party Agreement for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Policy Election' Jang Seok-woong, candidate for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education, held a press conference on the 19th and proposed a "Three-Party Agreement for the Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Policy Election."

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jang Seok-woong, candidate for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education, proposed a ‘Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Policy Election Tripartite Agreement’ for fair and clean election campaigns to the candidates running for the Jeonnam Superintendent of Education in the June 1 election.

On the 19th, candidate Jang held a press conference at the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and stated, “I propose that we meet as soon as possible to sign the ‘Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Policy Election Tripartite Agreement’ to stop all mutual slander during the election campaign and make Jeonnam a model of the cleanest and fairest policy election in the country.”

Candidate Jang said, “Compared to elections for governor, mayor, county head, or local council members, many voters have relatively less interest in the superintendent of education election, so they may be confused about who the candidates are, what policies they propose, and whom to vote for.” He added, “The superintendent of education election has no party nominations and only names, not numbers, are given on the ballot to guarantee the political neutrality of education as protected by the Constitution.”

He continued, “Recently, an organization supporting a certain candidate has been collaborating with politicized specific forces to hang illegal banners everywhere, slandering Jeonnam education and confusing the residents.” He claimed, “This is an act of malicious political activity that distorts facts, deceives Jeonnam residents, and damages their honor.”

Candidate Jang said, “The superintendent of education election is not an election to choose politicians. When the election process is clean and fair, the justice of the results is recognized, and the elected candidates can be respected by everyone.” He proposed, “To make Jeonnam a model of the cleanest policy election in the country, I will sign the ‘Jeonnam Superintendent of Education Policy Election Tripartite Agreement’ together with candidates Kim Dae-jung and Kim Dong-hwan.”

He added, “I hope the residents take greater interest in the superintendent of education election, closely monitor the election process, and ultimately make a wise decision.” He also said, “In the fourth term of the elected Jeonnam education administration, following local autonomy, the era of educational autonomy should open, becoming a win-win era where the region is revitalized through education, and education further develops through the region.”
