Dong-Eui University Selected for University Sports Club Support Project for 9 Consecutive Years... Receives 109 Million Won in Funding

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Doo-yeol] Dong-Eui University has been finally selected for the ‘2022 University Sports Team Evaluation and Support Project’ by the Korea University Sports Federation (KUSF), announced on the 18th, and will receive 109 million KRW in support.

Since the project began in 2014, Dong-Eui University has been selected for nine consecutive years and receives the 11th highest amount of funding among the 118 universities nationwide selected this year through the preliminary operation evaluation of university sports teams.

The support funds will be used for training expenses, competition participation fees, equipment costs, and improvement of sports environments for seven sports teams, including the fostered sports of soccer, baseball, badminton, fencing, judo, taekwondo, and the non-fostered sport of kabaddi.

Park Moon-su, Director of Sports Promotion at Dong-Eui University, said, “We received good evaluations in quantitative indicators such as facility infrastructure and securing coaches, as well as qualitative evaluations including student-athlete capabilities, coach capabilities, and social cooperation of university sports teams. We will support the athletes so that they can fully concentrate on their training in a good environment and demonstrate their best abilities.”

The university sports team support project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean sports by revitalizing university sports teams and supports competitive sports teams at each university.

The project is organized by the Korea University Sports Federation and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation.
