[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (hereinafter SH Corporation) will recruit about 2,100 units of national rental housing starting from the 30th of this month.
On the 19th, SH Corporation announced that it will recruit a total of 2,138 households, including 714 tenants and 1,424 prospective tenants for the remaining vacant units in national rental housing complexes such as Gangil, Jangji, and Sinnae 3 Districts. The tenant recruitment announcement will be posted on SH Corporation's website at 3 p.m. on the 20th.
The average deposit and rent by area for the units being recruited this time are as follows: for units with an exclusive area of 39㎡ or less, a deposit of 28 million KRW and rent of 220,000 KRW; for units 49㎡ or less, a deposit of 45 million KRW and rent of 300,000 KRW; and for units 59㎡ or less, a deposit of 55 million KRW and rent of 350,000 KRW.
Eligibility for tenants is limited to household members without housing residing in Seoul as of the tenant recruitment announcement date, the 20th. The household's monthly average income must be 70% or less of the urban worker's average monthly income, total household assets must be 325 million KRW or less, and the value of household-owned vehicles must be 35.57 million KRW or less.
For housing units with an exclusive area under 50㎡, applicants with a monthly average income of 50% or less will be given priority in case of competition, and the first priority condition is residence in the relevant autonomous district or adjacent districts. For units with an exclusive area of 50㎡ or more, the ranking is determined by the number of payments made to the Housing Subscription Savings, with the first priority condition being 24 or more payments made.
Applications for subscription will be accepted online from the 30th of this month to the 3rd of next month for priority applicants, and in-person applications will also be accepted from the 2nd to the 3rd of next month at SETEC Exhibition Hall 3 in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Secondary applicants can apply online only on the 16th of next month. However, if the number of priority applicants exceeds 200% of the recruitment units, the secondary application will not proceed.
Document screening candidates will be announced on July 5th, winners on November 11th, and move-in will be possible after December this year. The move-in date for prospective tenants will be individually notified. Detailed information can be found on SH Corporation's website.
