Bitcoin Pizza Day commemorates May 22, 2010, when Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer from Florida, USA, exchanged 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas. It is recognized as the day when the value of virtual assets as a payment method was first proven, and the industry celebrates this day annually.
At the event, attendees were able to receive pizza by presenting tickets designed with a Bitcoin motif, reflecting the origin and meaning of Bitcoin Pizza Day. Additionally, price tags showing the current value of the bitcoins used in the pizza exchange?approximately 250 billion KRW?were attached, allowing participants to enjoyably experience the growth in Bitcoin's value, which received great positive feedback.
Cha Myunghoon, CEO of Coinone, stated, "By actively participating in the 'Know Crypto Correctly' campaign, employees will help increase trust in the industry and contribute to the formation of a healthy investment culture."
