[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Porsche Korea announced on the 19th that it will further expand support by selecting special scholarship students in addition to its existing support for talented children in arts and sports and children aging out of care, to commemorate the 5th anniversary of its social contribution campaign ‘Porsche Do Dream’.
On the 18th, Porsche Korea held a special scholarship award ceremony for the 5th anniversary of ‘Dream Up’ at Page Myeongdong Community Masil. The ceremony was attended by Holger Gehrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, Wonman Jung, Vice Chairman of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, ‘Dream Up’ sponsored students, and special scholarship students. Along with the awarding of scholarships and certificates, time was spent encouraging the children’s ‘dreams.’ The special scholarship students brightened the ceremony by performing viola and ajaeng and sharing their thoughts.
Holger Gehrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, said, “A dream is not just a simple ideal; it gains true meaning when you act to realize that dream,” and added, “I sincerely support the ‘Dream Up’ talented children who have been striving for their dreams over the past five years, and I am pleased to be able to accompany the students on their journey toward their ‘dreams.’”
Porsche Korea first introduced the social contribution campaign ‘Porsche Do Dream’ in 2017, reflecting the brand’s values of ‘dream’ and ‘passion.’ ‘Porsche Dream Up,’ which supports children’s ‘dreams,’ has supported a total of 113 children with 710 million KRW over the past five years, achieving meaningful results in various fields such as arts, sports, and qualification acquisition.
This year, through the selection of special scholarship students, Porsche Korea supports children who strive to realize their ‘dreams’ so that they can continue to pursue their ‘dreams’ even after becoming adults. The candidates are children who have shown outstanding achievements in arts and sports fields such as viola, Korean dance, judo, and ajaeng during the Dream Up support period. The support for children aging out of care is also expanded to 17 categories including illustration, shoe design, architectural design, and social work.
Porsche Korea continues the talented children support project ‘Porsche Dream Up,’ the indoor gymnasium construction project ‘Porsche Dream Playground,’ and the creation of green spaces within schools ‘Porsche Dream Circle’ in partnership with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. This year, a new program for children’s traffic safety is also planned. Through the ‘Do Dream’ campaign, Porsche Korea has donated a total of 4.257 billion KRW over five years.
