[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Naver's startup incubation organization 'D2SF' announced on the 19th that it has invested in the NFT and blockchain-based content startup 'Modehaus.' Futureplay and Timewise Investment participated as co-investors in Modehaus's recent pre-Series A round.
Modehaus is developing a 'fan-participatory entertainment platform' utilizing NFT and blockchain technology. Unlike the traditional method where agencies produced artists themselves, Modehaus enables the entire artist production process?from trainee selection to concept planning?to be carried out with fan participation.
Currently, Modehaus is preparing its first project, the girl group 'tripleS.' Starting with the first member reveal on the 1st, they have been continuously releasing content and engaging with the fan community. In the future, they plan to concretize activities such as forming debut units and planning album concepts together with fans on the platform.
The co-founders of Modehaus are experts with comprehensive understanding and experience in the K-POP industry, entertainment content, and metaverse platforms. CEO Byungki Jung has produced numerous artists and albums as the head of music and album planning (A&R) at JYP Entertainment, Woollim Entertainment, and Sony Music Korea.
Sanghwan Yang, leader of Naver D2SF, stated, “In metaverse platforms, content that can actively engage fan communities is crucial, and NFT and blockchain technology form the foundation of this. Modehaus is rapidly targeting the market by developing a content planning and production platform that fans directly participate in, and we expect significant synergy with Naver’s various content platforms in the future.”
