"Let's Change Together" Pohang City Holds 2022 Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest Poster for Pohang City's '2022 Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest'.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk Province, is conducting the "2022 Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest" from May 18 to June 16 to identify and improve unreasonable regulations that cause inconvenience in daily life and economic activities together with citizens.


The contest categories are divided into citizen life and economic activities, including ▲ childbirth, childcare, low-income groups, elderly welfare ▲ inconveniences in daily life such as transportation, housing, and medical care ▲ employment and job opportunities for youth, career interrupters, and the elderly ▲ difficulties in startup and business activities for self-employed and small business owners ▲ regulatory difficulties in new technologies, new services, and renewable energy, totaling five categories. However, simple complaints, petitions, or opinions already submitted through other proposal systems are excluded.


Anyone interested in regulatory improvement can participate in the contest. Application forms can be downloaded from the Pohang City website under Electronic Civil Complaints - Regulatory Reform - Regulatory Improvement Idea Contest and submitted via bulletin board, mail, or email.


The city plans to review the submitted ideas and select and announce outstanding proposals by the end of June. One grand prize winner will receive 500,000 KRW, and two excellence and five encouragement awardees will receive 300,000 KRW and 100,000 KRW respectively, all paid in Pohang Love Gift Certificates.


A Pohang City official stated, "We will continuously propose the selected excellent improvement plans to central government departments to ensure that unreasonable regulations are improved," and added, "We ask for active participation from citizens with creative ideas."
