POSCO Pohang Steelworks held a kickoff event for 'Creating Innovative Partner Companies' at the Equipment Technology Center on the 17th.

The event was attended by Baekhee Lee, Pohang Steelworks Director, Yunsik Gong, Chairman of the Partner Companies Association, and related personnel from Pohang Steelworks and partner companies.

The 'Creating Innovative Partner Companies' program, starting for the first time this year, is a win-win growth program aimed at improving the safety and working environment levels of partner companies to make them 'companies where people want to work.'

The steelworks assigns innovation experts with over 30 years of field experience to partner companies to support systematic QSS activities for one year, closely guiding overall innovation activities such as identifying waste and risk factors, and improving equipment and work methods.

For locations requiring precise safety inspections, Pohang Steelworks safety staff will directly inspect the sites and support deriving improvement plans for risk factors.

In particular, plans will be actively pursued to mechanize and automate tasks to minimize high-risk manual work. Representative examples include the development of safety jigs and fixtures and automation equipment that can replace manual work.
