Gochang-gun Supports Agricultural Product Packaging Costs and E-commerce Delivery Fees

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, is supporting distribution packaging materials to strengthen the price competitiveness of agricultural products and reduce the burden on farmers.

On the 18th, the county announced that it will promote the ‘UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Agricultural Products Distribution Packaging Support Project’ and the ‘Agricultural Products E-commerce Support Project.’

The ‘Agricultural Products Distribution Packaging Support Project’ targets farmers who have committed to shipping through the Gochang-gun integrated marketing organization and have received brand certification for the Gochang Biosphere Reserve area. It supports 1,000 KRW (50%) per packaging material based on 2,000 KRW per fresh agricultural product packaging.

By marking the ‘Gochang Biosphere Reserve’ certification mark on the distribution packaging, it is expected to emphasize the product competitiveness of Gochang agricultural products and increase consumer trust.

This year, with a total project cost of 200 million KRW, packaging costs for 100,000 sheets will be supported, and project recipients from 12 organizations have been confirmed.

The ‘Agricultural Products E-commerce Delivery Fee Support Project’ supports delivery fees for agricultural products sold through online shopping malls, targeting farmers who directly produce agricultural products within the county.

Based on 2,500 KRW per delivery, 1,250 KRW (50%) is supported, aiming to activate e-commerce sales of Gochang agricultural products and increase farmers’ income by securing price competitiveness.

With a total project cost of 40 million KRW, delivery fees for about 16,000 cases will be supported, and project recipients from 52 organizations have been confirmed.

Park Seonggi, head of the County Agriculture and Rural Food Division, said, “We expect that various support projects will greatly help reduce agricultural product distribution costs and increase farm income,” adding, “We will continue to strive to expand sales channels for excellent Gochang agricultural products through various distribution projects to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
