Urbanbase Selected as SoftBank ONE SHIP Partner

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] Urbanbase Co., Ltd. announced that it has been selected as a partner of SoftBank Japan's 'ONE SHIP.' The company was recognized for its technological capabilities and market potential in the proptech metaverse sector by providing space data and 3D interior solutions optimized for the Japanese real estate and housing market.

SoftBank's corporate partner program, ONE SHIP, is designed to build next-generation platforms by selecting companies with innovative technologies and experiences across various industries. Companies that provide Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and related services such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, security, Internet of Things (IoT), and robotic process automation (RPA) are mainly selected as partners.

Urbanbase will collaborate with SoftBank and other partners participating in the program to build a platform for implementing 3D virtual spaces, which are fundamental to the metaverse. Urbanbase's core technology, which automatically models 2D floor plans into 3D spaces in just a few seconds, will be primarily used. Urbanbase holds the world's only patent for this technology in five major countries including South Korea, China, Europe, Japan, the United States, and Hong Kong.

As part of this partnership, Urbanbase will exhibit its solutions at SoftBank's Executive Briefing Center (EBC) starting July 1. The SoftBank EBC is an exhibition space that demonstrates and introduces the latest solutions, providing opportunities to connect companies and customers to explore new business possibilities. Urbanbase plans to showcase its 3D interior service 'Urbanbase' and augmented reality (AR) interior application 'Urbanbase AR,' among others.

Kim Deokjung, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Urbanbase, said, "We are pleased to be selected as a 'ONE SHIP' partner, the highest-level partner of SoftBank, known as a game changer company in Japan," and added, "As the name ONE SHIP implies, we look forward to creating the next mobile era together with various companies, which cannot be achieved by a single company alone."
