Spreading a Culture of Sharing through Community Contribution Activities
Employees of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation are participating in volunteer work to assist with farm labor in rural areas.
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as Kibo) announced on the 18th that it visited a persimmon and strawberry farm located in Daesan-myeon, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, to carry out volunteer work to help with farm labor during the busy spring farming season.
This volunteer activity was organized to assist the shortage of rural labor caused by rapid aging and a sharp decrease in foreign workers. In Gyeongsangnam-do, a special measure to help with farm labor is being promoted to ensure there are no production difficulties due to labor shortages during the busy farming season starting in April, and participation in volunteer activities by local public institutions is needed.
Director Lee Eun-il of Kibo said, "We decided to carry out volunteer activities after hearing that persimmon and strawberry farms are experiencing a shortage of rural labor due to the impact of COVID-19," adding, "Kibo will not ignore the difficulties of the local community and will actively promote social contribution activities to spread a culture of sharing."
