[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Namyang Dairy Products announced on the 18th that it has launched a label-free version of its liquid fermented milk product, ‘100 Billion Probiotics at Once.’
The newly introduced label-free Cheon-eok Pro product eliminates the vinyl label attached to the existing container, reducing vinyl usage and making recycling easier, thereby increasing the recycling rate. It was released as a bundled product, and for individual sales, a label separation line was applied instead of a label-free design.
Namyang Dairy Products expects an annual reduction of about 25 tons of plastic through the removal of side labels on this product. From the consumer’s perspective, there is no need to separately remove the label after consumption, making recycling more convenient.
The label-free Cheon-eok Pro product was launched following a request from students at Bukseong Elementary School in Changwon, Gyeongnam. Students who consumed the product through school meals directly requested the company to improve the container, and Namyang Dairy Products reflected this demand in the product.
A Namyang Dairy Products official said, "Namyang Dairy Products is committed to eco-friendly management by conducting company-wide environmental activities as well as running the 'Save the Earth' campaign together with consumers," adding, "We will continue to lead eco-friendly initiatives for the planet, including expanding products using eco-friendly packaging materials."
