Virtual Actor as the Protagonist? ... Dongseo University Selected for AI-Linked Content Creator Training Project Dongseo University New Millennium Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Dongseo University has been selected as the ‘2022 AI-Linked Content Creator Training Education Institution’ supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency.


This project, conducted for the second time this year following last year, carries out practical projects linking artificial intelligence (AI) technology with cultural and artistic content fields.


The project aims to cultivate content creators capable of utilizing artificial intelligence.


Dongseo University, selected for the project, provides step-by-step basic software education for both software majors and non-software majors as a software-centered university project group. It also realizes convergence of various academic departments through the operation of interdisciplinary linked majors.


Within the project, a convergence education program linked to the ‘AI technology-based scenario and virtual human-utilized metaverse immersive drama project’ is operated through convergence education among the software-centered university project group, AI engineering, big data, AI content convergence linked majors, Department of Visual Animation, Broadcasting and Video major, and Musical major.


During the project, trainees will produce virtual actors resembling real actors using artificial intelligence and create scenarios with AI to present real-time metaverse dramas.


The project operation runs until November 30, 2022, with a total budget of 460 million KRW supported.


Pulse9, a graphic AI specialized company, participates in cultural and artistic content planning and production practice, AI-linked education, and project support curriculum, producing real-time metaverse dramas as well.


The produced works are scheduled to be performed at Dongseo University Sohyang Art Hall on November 11.


Kim Ki-hong, head of the SW Convergence Center, said, “The goal is to nurture creative and convergent talents utilizing artificial intelligence through the project process.”
