[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Professional golfer Jang Heemin of the ZIVENT Golf Team secured his first victory at the 2022 KPGA Korean Tour Woori Financial Championship held at Yeoju Ferrum Club CC (Par 72).
In the final round, Jang Heemin shot 1-under 71 with 5 birdies and 4 bogeys, finishing with a total score of 5-under 283 to clinch the win. This was only his second tournament since his Korean Tour debut.
Jang rose to 2nd place in both the Genesis Points and prize money rankings, emerging as a strong candidate for this year’s Rookie of the Year. In his debut last month at the DB Insurance Promy Open, he finished tied for 17th.
Jang Heemin, who became a full member of the KPGA in 2020, debuted on the tour this year after finishing tied for 10th in last year’s KPGA Korean Tour QT. ZIVENT, which has a sponsorship contract with Jang, plans to award a prize money bonus for his victory.
Jang said, "I believe the trust and generous support I have received so far laid the foundation for achieving this win. I will focus on maintaining my tour card this year and strive to challenge overseas tours."
