On the 14th, Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk held a joint inauguration ceremony of the Youth Participation Committee and the Steering Committee at the Youth Training Center.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk, held a joint launching ceremony for the Youth Participation Committee and the Operations Committee, youth participation organizations, at the Youth Training Center on the 14th, marking the start of their full-scale activities.
The Youth Participation and Operations Committees are youth autonomous organizations established to promote the effectiveness of youth policies and enhance their rights and interests.
At the launching ceremony, appointment letters were presented to 36 youth committee members selected through open recruitment and school principal recommendations. In addition, education on the roles and operations of youth participation organizations was conducted.
The youth committee members will participate in policy and project processes from the youth perspective for one year by each organization, and engage in various activities such as managing youth facilities and programs, holding meetings, and campaigns.
A Yeongcheon City official said, “We hope they will convey diverse voices as activists representing youth perspectives,” and added, “We will actively support them to lead voluntary participation and change among youth.”
