Marine Energy Donates 10 Million KRW Development Fund to Gwangju University

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyukjong) announced on the 16th that Marine Energy Co., Ltd. donated 10 million KRW as an endowment fund to support the cultivation of outstanding talent and research in renewable energy.

The donation ceremony held at the Education Innovation Support Office in the school administration building was attended by Kim Hyukjong, President of Gwangju University, Kim Hyungsun, CEO of Marine Energy, Kim Hwangyong, Director of Planning at Gwangju University, Oh Kwangho, Head of Management Marketing Division at Marine Energy, and other officials from both organizations.

Marine Energy signed a business agreement with Gwangju University in May last year to promote industrial development and talent cultivation in the renewable energy sector, and previously delivered an endowment fund of 10 million KRW to enhance the practical skills of enrolled students.

Accordingly, both organizations are establishing a cooperative system for ▲ nurturing talent in renewable energy fields such as fuel cells ▲ activating industry-academia cooperation through joint research and technical consulting in renewable energy ▲ supporting field training to strengthen practical skills of Gwangju University students ▲ prioritizing employment support for outstanding students ▲ providing expert lectures and customized practical education.

President Kim Hyukjong said, “We congratulate Marine Energy on its 40th anniversary and will strive for regional development by building a cooperative system between the university and the company.”
