Transferred to Seoul Police on the 11th... Considering the Seriousness of the Matter
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The civic group Legalism Restoration Action Alliance (Beopse-ryeon) has transferred the case of independent lawmaker Min Hyung-bae being accused of obstruction of business to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
According to the police on the 16th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that it handed over Min's case to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 11th. Considering the seriousness of the case, it was reported that the case was transferred to the metropolitan police agency.
Beopse-ryeon filed a complaint against Min last month on the 22nd with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on charges of obstruction of business by deception and intimidation. The case was then transferred to the Seocho Police Station on the 27th of the same month. On the 3rd of this month, Beopse-ryon’s representative Lee Jong-bae was summoned for an investigation as the complainant.
At that time, Beopse-ryon claimed that Min, who left the party during the process of passing the "Kensu Wanbak" bill, joined the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee's agenda adjustment subcommittee, enabling the Democratic Party to proceed with the bill unilaterally.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party reassigned independent lawmaker Yang Hyang-ja, who was a member of the National Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee, to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee. However, when Yang expressed opposition to the Kensu Wanbak bill, Min prepared a sudden plan to leave the party.
