53-Year-Old Old Helicopter Crashes Over Seonjasan, Geoje

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The helicopter that crashed on the morning of the 16th on Seonjasan Mountain in Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, was confirmed to be an old model made 53 years ago.

According to the ATIS Aircraft Technical Information System, the crashed S-61N HL9490 helicopter was a 25-seat model manufactured on May 26, 1969.

The Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters reported that the helicopter was carrying materials needed for a forest trail construction project commissioned by Geoje-si that morning when the accident occurred, but the exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
