After initially showing buying interest along with individuals right after the market opened, institutions turned to net selling. However, the KOSDAQ is rising by over 0.7%.
As of 10:59 a.m. today, the KOSPI is at 2603.42, down 0.03% (0.82 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened at 2624.69, up 0.79% (20.45 points) from the previous day, then gradually narrowed its gains before turning flat. By investor type, individuals alone bought stocks worth 82.3 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions sold net amounts of 33.9 billion KRW and 65.1 billion KRW, respectively.
Looking at the top market capitalization stocks on the Korea Exchange, the leading stock Samsung Electronics is trading at 66,500 KRW, the same price as the previous day. Kakao is trading at 83,300 KRW, up 1.83% (1,500 KRW) from the previous day, while ▲LG Energy Solution (0.25%) ▲Samsung Electronics Preferred (1.37%) ▲LG Chem (0.78%) are also rising. On the other hand, ▲SK Hynix (-0.89%) ▲Samsung Biologics (-0.76%) ▲Hyundai Motor (-0.80%) are declining. NAVER and Samsung SDI are trading at 274,500 KRW and 589,000 KRW, respectively, maintaining the same prices as the previous trading day.
By sector, reopening-related industries such as textiles and apparel (2.11%), food and beverages (1.54%), and banks (1.28%) show noticeable gains. Conversely, telecommunications (-1.46%), transportation and warehousing (-0.57%), and telecommunications (-0.19%) sectors are declining.
Han Ji-young, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, commented on this week's KOSPI outlook: "Due to macro uncertainties, it will take time for the index to meaningfully open its upper range," but added, "From the perspective of price and valuation, this is a phase where entry attractiveness has increased rather than liquidation, which is expected to lead to a recovery in the domestic stock market." The weekly KOSPI forecast range was presented as 2550 to 2680 points.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is at 859.71, up 0.78% (6.63 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSDAQ opened at 862.24, up 1.07% (9.16 points) from the previous day, but the gains have somewhat narrowed. By investor type, individuals alone bought stocks worth 28.3 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions sold net amounts of 21.1 billion KRW and 4.7 billion KRW, respectively.
Most of the top 10 market capitalization stocks on the KOSDAQ are rising. HLB is trading at 46,700 KRW, up 9.88% (4,200 KRW) from the previous day, along with ▲EcoPro BM (1.62%) ▲Celltrion Healthcare (2.19%) ▲L&F (3.88%) ▲Kakao Games (1.82%) ▲Celltrion Pharm (1.43%) ▲Cheonbo (4.64%) showing gains. Conversely, ▲Pearl Abyss (-0.86%) ▲Rino Industrial (-0.12%) ▲Studio Dragon (-0.13%) are declining.
By sector, food and tobacco (4.80%) and transportation equipment and parts (4.35%) are rising, while semiconductors (-0.11%) and non-metallic minerals (-0.06%) are slightly declining.
